Abstract:
Provided are an image processing device, an image transmission device, method, program, and display device appropriate for performing decrease of the number of bit planes while significantly suppressing the particle feeling in the image region of a gentle gradation or in a solid color image region and then increase of the number. A second image processing unit (5) includes: a bit addition unit (207) for subjecting compressed data read from a memory (2) to a bit addition process based on a two-dimensional dither matrix so as to obtain decompressed data; an LPF processing threshold value generation unit (209) for obtaining a threshold value from the decompressed data; and an LPF processing unit (210) for acquiring a difference between the decompressed data of the target pixel and pixel around it. When the difference value is within a range of the threshold value, the weighted mean processing result of the decompressed data on the target pixel and the decompressed data on peripheral pixel is made to be output image data. When the difference value exceeds the threshold value, decompressed data on an arbitrary pixel is made to be output image data.
