Provided is an image processing device capable of performing motion estimation rapidly with a simple architecture. Said image processing device is provided with the following: LSRAM (11) that stores a second image consisting of a prescribed region of a first image and allows faster access than a frame memory (2); an estimation unit (15) that reads out a third image consisting of a prescribed region of the second image from the LSRAM (11) and performs first motion estimation on the basis of said third image; SSRAM (17) that allows faster access than the frame memory (2); a transfer unit (16) that, on the basis of the result of the estimation performed by the aforementioned estimation unit (15), reads out a fourth image consisting of a prescribed region of the second image from the LSRAM (11) and stores said fourth image in the SSRAM (17); and an estimation unit (18) that reads out the fourth image from the SSRAM (17), and on the basis of said fourth image, performs second motion estimation that is more precise than the first motion estimation.
