Abstract:
According to an image processing device of the present invention, a binarized image with improved reliability can be generated by extracting metal pieces in an original image (PO) by a graph cut procedure. To minimize computational load of the graph cut procedure, this image processing device segments an image in a binarized image, in which metal pieces are roughly extracted, near the center of an intermediate zone which is difficult to determine whether or not it belongs to a metal piece, after which the image is pruned from near the center of the intermediate zone. Thus, the intermediate zone can be removed reliably while minimizing the range of the image to be pruned.
