Abstract:
In order to perform noise reduction processing which is less susceptible to noise and achieves a natural finish without unevenness and the like while maintaining edges, provided is an image processing device (103) provided with: a structural index calculation means (11) for, with respect to a notice pixel of an input image, calculating a structural index that is an index of the magnitude of a change in pixel value in a predetermined range around the notice pixel; a high-frequency component extraction means (12) for extracting a high-frequency structural index that is a high-frequency component of the structural index; a smoothing means (13) for calculating a smoothed structural index obtained by smoothing the structural index; a flatness index calculation means (14) for calculating, as a flatness index of the notice pixel, a synthesis index obtained by synthesizing the smoothed structural index and the high-frequency structural index; and a noise reduction means (15) for performing noise reduction processing on the notice pixel according to the flatness index.
