Abstract:

An image processing device in which an image processing unit which configures a pipeline by series-connecting a plurality of processing modules for performing predetermined processing on inputted image data, and performs pipeline processing by the respective processing modules sequentially performing the processing is connected to a data bus, the region of the image data corresponding to one frame is divided into a plurality of blocks having a predetermined size, the image data included in the block is read from a data storage unit connected to the data bus via the date bus on a block-by-block basis, and subjected to image processing, wherein the image processing unit is provided with an external input/output module which is incorporated, into the pipeline, as the processing module for performing processing different from the processing to be performed by each of the processing modules, and the external input/output module outputs to an external processing unit outside the image processing unit directly, not via the data bus, processed data obtained by a first processing module, which is the processing module located at a stage prior to a position of incorporation into the pipeline, processing the image data included in the block, and outputs to a second processing module, which is the processing module located at a stage subsequent to the first processing module in the pipeline, directly, not via the data bus, externally processed data inputted after obtained by the external processing unit externally processing the processed data.
