Abstract:
The present invention includes: a prospective size setting unit (ACE decision unit 151) which sets, as a prospective size, a document size of a document read out by a document reading unit (12); a threshold determination unit (ACS decision unit 151) which determines a first threshold according to the prospective size; and the ACS decision unit (151) which decides as a color document, when the number of color pixels is the first threshold or greater, wherein, when an actual size of the document read out by the document reading unit (12) is smaller than the prospective size, the threshold determination unit determines a second threshold smaller than the first threshold according to the actual size, decides as a color document when the number of color pixels is the second threshold or greater, and decides as a black and white document, when the number of color pixels is smaller than the second threshold.
