Abstract:
In order to generate a virtual viewpoint image on the basis of images captured by a plurality of cameras for capturing images of a subject from a plurality of directions, this image processing system detects an abnormality of at least one camera among the plurality of cameras, and generates, as an image for an image-capturing area of the camera for which the abnormality was detected, a virtual viewpoint image by using the captured images from cameras for which an abnormality is not detected from among the plurality of cameras.
