Abstract:
An image reading apparatus according to the present invention comprises an image capturing unit for capturing an image of an image capturing target surface, an optical element forming an optical path through which light is guided to the image capturing unit, a housing which houses the image capturing unit and the optical element and includes an opening, a light source which is provided outside the housing and emits light, and a half mirror which covers the opening of the housing, reflects a portion of the light, and transmits another portion of the light. The half mirror is disposed inclined with respect to the image capturing target surface.
