Abstract:
An image reading device (1) is provided with: a reading unit (30) that reads a document; a document conveying unit (20) that is supported so as to freely open/close relative to the reading unit (30); foam synthetic resin members (51, 52) supported on the lower surface of the document conveying unit (20); a document pressing plate (21) that is attached to the document conveying unit (20) via the respective foam synthetic resin members (51, 52); and height restricting units (53, 54) which are provided to the document conveying unit (20), and which is pressed against a second platen glass (32) via the document pressing plate (21). When the document conveying unit (20) is in a closed condition, the respective height restricting units (53, 54) are positioned to overlap with the area of the second platen glass (32).
