Abstract:
This image reading device (10) is provided with: a sensor module (102) having a light source and a plurality of sensors; a white reference plate; and an image processing unit (204) that generates correction data to be used for shading correction, and uses the correction data to carry out the shading correction on an image signal. The light source is configured to be switched between at least a first luminosity and a second luminosity lower than the first luminosity. The image processing unit (204) obtains intermediate data by causing the plurality of sensors to obtain image signals of the white reference board illuminated with the second luminosity, generates black correction data on the basis of the intermediate data, and uses the black correction data to carry out shading correction, whereby unevenness in density of the images caused by interference between the image signals from the plurality of sensors is corrected.
