Abstract:
This image reading device comprises an image processing section (204) that creates correction data to be used for shading correction and that performs shading correction by using said correction data. The image processing section (204) is configured so as to create intermediate data of a predetermined darkness level, and: creates, on the basis of an image signal of a first reference plate and a second reference plate which are arranged at different positions from one another in a sub-scanning direction, said intermediate data at each of said positions; creates first and second black correction data on the basis of the respective intermediate data; creates, on the basis of both the black correction data, black correction data corresponding to the sub-scanning direction; and performs shading correction by using the black correction data at each position in the sub-scanning direction.
