Abstract:
This image reading device comprises: an image processing section (204) that creates black correction data and white correction data to be used for shading correction, and that performs shading correction by using both the correction data; and a memory (203) that stores first black correction data of a predetermined first position in a predetermined sub-scanning direction, the first black correction data being used for shading correction in a main scanning direction. The image processing section (204): creates third black data on the basis of an image signal of a second reference plate extending in the sub-scanning direction at a predetermined second position in the main scanning direction; creates black correction data corresponding to the sub-scanning direction from the first black correction data and the third black data; and corrects darkness unevenness in an image in the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction, the darkness unevenness being caused by interference between image signals from a plurality of sensors by performing shading correction by using said black correction data.
