Abstract:
This image reading device (1) is provided with: a right mounting stand (15) and an image reading unit (62) of a right optical unit (51). The right mounting stand (15) has a right mounting surface (17) on which a manuscript is mounted. The image reading unit (62) of the right optical unit (51) is supported so as to be translatable in a direction parallel to a reading plane along which a reading surface of the manuscript mounted on the right mounting stand (15) is positioned in order to be disposed at each of a plurality of reading positions. When the image reading unit (62) is disposed at one reading position among the plurality of reading positions, the image reading unit (62) captures, by using light traveling along a reading optical axis plane (67), an image of a right reading line region that corresponds to the reading position among a plurality of right reading line regions that fill the reading surface. The reading optical axis plane (67) is inclined with respect to a normal line of the reading plane.
