Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an image-recognition device and a method for controlling the same, with which it is possible to appropriately execute image recognition even if a vehicle is tilted. A vehicle-mounted image-recognition device (10) for recognizing the surrounding conditions of a vehicle on the basis of image data that corresponds to an image of the surroundings captured from the vehicle, wherein said device (10) is provided with: a tilt-detecting unit (2) for detecting the tilt of the vehicle; an image-rotating unit (4) for correcting, via rotation, the image data in accordance with the tilt that the tilt-detecting unit (2) detected; and an image-recognizing unit (5) for recognizing the surrounding conditions of the vehicle on the basis of corrected image data that is generated by the image-rotating unit (4) correcting the image data via rotation.
