Abstract:
Embodiments of the present application provide an image recognition method and an electronic device. The method comprises: in response to receiving an instruction for face recognition, collecting image information by a camera, the image information being used for performing identity verification on a target object; determining, on the basis of the image information, whether a facial contour can be detected; in response to being unable to detect a facial contour, determining an average pixel brightness value of a preset image coordinate region in the image information, and adjusting camera parameters on the basis of the average pixel brightness value; and re-collecting image information by the camera on the basis of the adjusted camera parameters. By means of the image recognition method in the present application, when a photographed facial image of a user is excessively dark, the facial image can still be recognized, thereby improving the face recognition success rate.
