Abstract:
An object of the invention is to make image quality degradation occurring on a recording medium less noticeable. With this image recorder, when an image is recorded and in cases in which a recording medium, on which an image is recorded in two continuous recording passes, is conveyed in a conveying direction so that recording regions on the recording medium partially overlap, different nozzles are used in each of the two continuous recording passes in order to record a line image equivalent to one line in a scanning direction of a duplicated region where the recording regions in the two continuous recording passes overlap each other, and a thin image in which different parts of the line image have been thinned out is recorded on the basis of mask data. The image recorder: sets the conveying-directional length of the duplicated region as a first length when the direction in which a carriage moves in the scanning direction in one of the two continuous recording passes is the same as the direction in which the carriage moves in the scanning direction in the other of the two continuous recording passes; and sets the conveying-directional length as a second length when the movement directions are different, the second length being shorter than the first length.
