Abstract:
In an image recording device according to an aspect of the present invention, image data are distributed to respective recording elements corresponding to respective raster lines, and data corresponding to poor recording elements are distributed to recording elements of another recording element column, the shift amount that corresponds to at least one recording element which is not a poor recording element for each of the raster lines is determined based on the location information of the acquired poor recording element as the relative shift amount in a direction which is orthogonal to the direction in which a plurality of recording element columns are transferred, and, by a moving portion where the relative positions of the plurality of recording element columns are moved, the plurality of recording element columns are relatively shifted by the same amount of the determined shift amount, the distributed image data are shifted by the determined shift amount, and the distributed image data are recorded by a recording head. In a case where the locations of the poor recording elements overlap with each other, the shift amount can be accurately determined, and a state where the locations of the poor recording elements do not coincide with each other can be reliably created.
