Abstract:
An image rendering device (100) comprises: a light source (105) for emitting laser light; a light scanner (200) for reciprocally scanning laser light in a main scanning direction and a sub scanning direction; a scanner control unit (108) for controlling the frequency for the light scanner (200) scanning the laser light in the main scanning direction; and a light source drive unit (104) for driving the light source (105) on the basis of image data. The scanner control unit (108) changes the frequency by a factor of n, where "n" is a natural number of two or greater. The light source drive unit (104) controls the light source (105) to change the time interval for rendering pixels along the scanning line in the main scanning direction by a factor of 1/n, and to render a plurality of pixels corresponding to a single scanning line at least one time during n times of scanning in the main scanning direction while not rendering pixels along scanning lines other than the scanning line along which pixels are rendered.
