Abstract:
An image segmentation method for teeth images, wherein the image segmentation method comprises: A) providing a group of oral computed tomography (CT) images; B) selecting, from the group of oral CT images, a target image sequence for a target tooth to be segmented, wherein the target image sequence includes multiple layers of oral CT images arranged sequentially, and the multiple layers of oral CT images include CT images of the target tooth; C) selecting an initial-layer oral CT image from the target image sequence, wherein the initial-layer oral CT image is located at an interlayer between a crown and a root of the target tooth; D) performing image segmentation on the initial-layer oral CT image to extract a dental region of the target tooth from the initial-layer oral CT image; and E) performing image segmentation on respective oral CT images of the target image sequence in a crown direction and in a root direction, based on an image segmentation result of the initial-layer oral CT image, to extract the dental region of the target tooth from the oral CT images.
