Abstract:
An image sensor is provided with: an imaging element; an optical system that includes a liquid lens for forming an image of a subject on an imaging plane of the imaging element; and a control unit that executes refractive power control processing for controlling the refractive power of the liquid lens by adjusting an applied voltage to the liquid lens, and recognition processing for recognizing prescribed kinds of information related to the subject by analyzing image data from the imaging element. The control unit is capable of operating in a plurality of operation modes that are different in standby time from when the applied voltage to the liquid lens is changed by the refractive power control processing to when the recognition processing is started.
