The present disclosure relates to the technical field of image processing and specifically relates to an image special effect processing method, a device, a live video streaming terminal, a computer device, and a computer storage medium. The image special effect processing method, comprising: receiving a special effect instruction, calling, on the basis of the special effect instruction, a special effect template used for special effect processing with respect to a video image, where the special effect template is provided with multiple special effect processing channels; acquiring multiple paths of image data on the basis of an inputted source route, respectively transmitting corresponding image data into the special effect processing channels of the special effect template; performing parallel special effect processing respectively with respect to the paths of image data via the special effect processing channels, and merging the special effect processed paths of image data to produce a target special effect image. The solution allows the acquisition of rich special effect design effects and is applicable for diversified needs of a current user with respect to the content in a thumbnail video and in a live streaming.
