Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to simplify the configuration of an imaging component equipped with a polarization unit that allows light in a specific polarization direction to pass therethrough. The imaging component is equipped with a polarization unit, a photoelectric conversion unit, a first charge-holding unit, an image signal generation unit, and a second charge-holding unit. The photoelectric conversion unit comprises an electroconductive member and allows light in a specific polarization direction out of incident light to pass therethrough. The photoelectric conversion unit generates an electric charge by means of photoelectric conversion based on the light that passed through the polarization unit. The first charge-holding unit holds the generated electric charge. The image signal generation unit generates an image signal corresponding to the electric charge held in the first charge-holding unit. The second charge-holding unit holds the generated electric charge and comprises, as an electrode thereof, the electroconductive member of the polarization unit.
