Abstract:
Provided are: an imaging device that makes it possible to obtain an image of good quality from both a variable lens and a normal lens while using a directional sensor; and a control method for the imaging device. The imaging device comprises a lens attachment section for selectively attaching a normal lens having one characteristic and a variable lens comprising a plurality of areas that each have an independent characteristic. The type of lens that is attached to the lens attachment section is determined. A plurality of images corresponding to the plurality of areas are generated when the variable lens is attached to the lens attachment section. A single image is generated from the imaging signals of all the pixels of a directional sensor when the normal lens is attached to the lens attachment section. When the variable lens is attached to the lens attachment section, correction is performed in which the effect of luminous flux that has passed through areas other than one area among the plurality of areas is removed from an image generated in accordance with the one area. When the normal lens is attached to the lens attachment section, differences in the sensitivities of each pixel among a plurality of types of pixels are corrected.
