Abstract:
Provided is an imaging device having excellent phase difference detection characteristics. The imaging device is provided with a plurality of image plane phase difference detecting pixels each of which comprises: a semiconductor layer; a photoelectric converting portion; a charge holding portion; a first light-blocking film; and a second light-blocking film. The semiconductor layer has a front surface and a back surface on the opposite side to the front surface. The photoelectric converting portion is disposed in the semiconductor layer and is capable of generating charges corresponding to a received amount of light by photoelectric conversion. The charge holding portion is disposed between the front surface and the photoelectric converting portion in the semiconductor layer and is capable of holding charges. The first light-blocking film is positioned between the photoelectric converting portion and the charge holding portion, and has an opening through which charges can pass. The second light-blocking film, when viewed from the photoelectric converting portion, is positioned on the opposite side to the first light-blocking film. Herein, the second light-blocking film of each of the plurality of image plane phase difference detecting pixels is disposed in a first region including an overlap region overlapping the opening in a pixel region occupied by the photoelectric converting portion, or is disposed in a second region of the pixel region other than the first region.
