Abstract:
An imaging device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a semiconductor substrate that has a first surface as a light entrance surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, and that has a plurality of sensor pixels arranged thereon in an array; a photoelectric conversion unit that is provided on the first surface side of the semiconductor substrate and that generates electric charge depending on the amount of received light through photoelectric conversion; an electric charge retention unit that is provided on the second surface side of the semiconductor substrate and that retains the electric charge transferred from the photoelectric conversion unit; a first light blocking unit that extends in an in-plane direction of the semiconductor substrate between the photoelectric conversion unit and the electric charge retention unit; and a light collection optical system that is provided on the first surface side and that collects incident light onto an approximate geometric center of the first light blocking unit in a plan view.
