Abstract:
An imaging device 10 includes: a focus control unit 350 which controls the focus position of an objective optical system 210 for focusing a subject image onto an imaging element 220; an image acquisition unit 390 which acquires (L × N) images per second captured by the imaging element 220; and an image synthesis unit 330 which synthesizes a single extended-depth image from M images acquired by the image acquisition unit 390, thereby extending the depth of field, and which outputs L extended-depth images per second. The image synthesis unit 330 sets one of the M images as a reference image, aligns the rest of the M images with the reference image, and synthesizes the single extended-depth image from the aligned M images.
