Abstract:
Provided are an imaging device and a flicker detection method which allow flicker to be easily cancelled by a user. A photometric range 62 in an imaging range of an imaging component is divided into a plurality of photometric areas 61, photometric measurement is performed for the divided areas on the basis of pixel signals output by the imaging component in order to detect divided areas in which a flicker stripe is expected to be present, a determination is carried out to determine if a flicker stripe is detected, and when it is determined that no flicker stripe can be detected therein, photometric measurement is performed for photometric areas 63 obtained by reducing the areas of the divided areas in the photometric range 64 in order to detect divided areas in which a flicker stripe is expected to be present.
