Abstract:
In the present invention, an imaging element (5) is provided with an imaging pixel (51) and phase difference detection pixels (51R, 51L). When there is an AF instruction, a defocusing quantity calculation unit (19) acquires information regarding the F value, focal distance, and focus position, and in accordance with the information, determines a shift amount for two output signal groups during a correlation computation. The defocusing quantity calculation unit (19) performs the correlation computation by offsetting the two output signal groups by a unit quantity at a time within the range of the determined shift amount, and from the results thereof, calculates a defocusing quantity.
