Abstract:
An image sensor 70 in an imaging device 100 outputs natural light data via an organic photoelectric conversion film, which detects light in a predetermined wavelength band and performs photoelectric conversion on the light, and outputs polarized light component data via a photoelectric conversion element, which carries out photoelectric conversion on light that passes through a wire grid polarizer layer. A sensitivity differential regulating unit 75 makes the levels of both data sets uniform. A flaw detection unit 78 detects a flaw in the data on the basis of the sum of polarized light components that are orthogonal to a direction. A flaw correction unit 76 identifies and complements a flaw location by comparing the natural light data with the polarized light component data. A natural light image generation unit 84 generates a luminance image via the linear sum of the pixel values of the natural light and the polarized light component. A polarized light image generation unit 86 interpolates a detected value of the polarized light component, adds a high-frequency component of the luminance image, and generates a polarized light image.
