Abstract:
An imaging device (1) is provided with cameras (100) (101) for producing multiple images with differing exposure levels and parallax; image luminosity adjustment units (200) (201) for adjusting the brightness of multiple images based on their exposure levels; matching units (21) (22) for determining matching information and conducting image matching using multiple images that have been adjusted for brightness; a distance calculation unit (31) for using the matching information to determine the distance to a specified photographed subject; a position calibration unit (24) for calibrating the position of the images in order to eliminate parallax in images having parallax, based on the matching information; and a wide dynamic range image generating unit (32) for generating images with a wide dynamic range from images captured by the cameras (100) (101), combining multiple images with differing exposure levels that have been position-calibrated by the position calibration unit (24). Thus, it is possible to simultaneously measure the distance to photographed subjects and produce wide dynamic range images from images captured at the same time with parallax and differing exposure levels.
