Title:
IMAGING DEVICE AND METHOD OF DRIVING SOLID-STATE IMAGE SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/132617
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is an imaging device with which it is possible to both improve color reproducibility and expand the dynamic range, regardless of the subject. The imaging device is equipped with: a solid-state image sensor (5) comprising a plurality of pairs containing a photoelectric transducer (51W) and a photoelectric transducer (51N), having different spectral sensitivity characteristics; and a drive unit (10) that independently controls the exposure time of the photoelectric transducer (51W) and the photoelectric transducer (51N). A wavelength range in which the spectral sensitivity is primarily possessed by the photoelectric transducer (51W) and a wavelength range in which the spectral sensitivity is primarily possessed by the photoelectric transducer (51N), each lying within the wavelength range of a specific visible light color. The pair of wavelength ranges includes a plurality of types of pairs having different specific colors. The drive unit (10) operates by switching between a first control in which the exposure time of the photoelectric transducer (51W) is made longer than the exposure time of the photoelectric transducer (51N), and a second control in which the exposure time of the photoelectric transducer (51N) is made longer than the exposure time of the photoelectric transducer (51W).
