Abstract:
With respect to an imaging device that has a lens in which the magnification of a subject changes when the focus lens position changes (a lens susceptible to so-called breathing), the present invention suppresses reductions in focusing accuracy caused in autofocusing when the subject is shifted out from the autofocus area. When autofocusing begins, the imaging device calculates, for each of a plurality of apertures, a variation in image magnification corresponding to each of the plurality of apertures in the autofocus area on the basis of a reference value of the variation in the image magnification caused by a change in the position of the focus lens; determines from the calculated variations an aperture limit which is an aperture corresponding to any of the variations less than or equal to a threshold of the allowed variation in image magnification; and, if the aperture obtained from the luminance of a subject luminance during autofocusing exceeds the determined aperture limit, sets the aperture to the aperture limit.
