Abstract:
Provided are an imaging device and imaging method capable of accurately obtaining distance information having a wide measured distance range extending from nearby to a distant subject. An imaging device is provided with a three-dimensional measurement processing unit (10) for determining corresponding image areas among each image that are groups of image areas resulting from imaging of the same location of a subject, an evaluation value comparison unit for evaluating the corresponding image area determination accuracy for each group of corresponding image areas, a processing unit for generation of a distance image with evaluation values (16) for determining the distance from cameras (2a, 2b) to the subject for the corresponding image areas on the basis of parallax and generating a distance image, and a final distance image generation processing unit (20) for generating a final distance image on the basis of the determination accuracies and a plurality of distance images generated through the imaging of the subject using a plurality of types of focal distances.
