Disclosed is an imaging device that is formed in a manner such that an adhesive does not leak into an inner opening when joining parallel plates, such as infrared cutting filters, together with the adhesive. The imaging device has, in an optical imaging system, parallel plates in which at least the visible light region is transparent, with said parallel plates joined together by means of the adhesive and held with a holding member, and is characterized in that the aforementioned holding member is provided with: an opening that is provided in order to pass light rays from the aforementioned optical imaging system; a holding surface that is formed in a square around said opening, intersects the optical axis of the aforementioned optical imaging system, and holds the periphery of the aforementioned parallel plates; walls that are raised parallel to said optical axis from the exterior of the aforementioned opening on said holding surface; and adhesive collecting sections that are provided on the four corners of the aforementioned holding surface and are lower than the aforementioned holding surface.
