Abstract:
Provided are an imaging device, imaging system, image processing method, and program such that an image that is suitable for viewing by a user can be obtained according to the orientation that an imaging unit is installed in. The imaging device (1) is provided with: an imaging unit for capturing an image; a detection unit for detecting inclination of the imaging unit with respect to the vertical direction (V) in real space; and an image processing unit for applying image processing to the image captured by the imaging unit. The image processing unit has a selection part and a conversion part. The selection part selects a projection plane from among multiple kinds of projection planes (101, 102) on the basis of the inclination detected by the detection unit, said projection planes being virtual planes set in real space and having different shapes from each other. The conversion part converts the image captured by the imaging unit such that the image captured by the imaging unit is mapped onto the projection plane selected by the selection part.
