Abstract:
Provided are: an imaging device that can generate a brightness signal that obtains an image such that the identification of an object is possible even in locations that are dark to the unaided eye of a human; and a vehicle-mounted imaging system that uses the imaging device. The imaging device or the vehicle-mounted imaging system using same is equipped with visible-light/near-infrared pixels having sensitivity to visible light and near-infrared light, an imaging unit provided with near-infrared pixels having sensitivity only to the near-infrared range, a color-difference-signal processing unit that synthesizes a color difference signal on the basis of the signals from the aforementioned pixels, and a brightness signal processing unit that generates a brightness signal on the basis of the signals from the aforementioned pixels, and the imaging device or the vehicle-mounted imaging system using same is further provided with a coefficient control unit that outputs a coefficient for controlling the brightness signal synthesis process by means of the signal quantity of the visible-light/near-infrared pixels and the near-infrared pixels. The coefficient control unit controls the synthesis ratio of the signal in the color difference signal processing unit in accordance with the signal quantity of the visible light pixels of the brightness signal processing unit on the basis of the coefficient output from the coefficient control unit.
