Abstract:

This endoscope system (100) is provided with: a white light source (61); a specialized-light light source (62) that radiates specialized light having a wavelength band that is different from that of the white radiated light; a CMOS imaging element (80); a read address setting unit (53) that can freely set the pixel from which to read in the CMOS imaging element (80) and the read order; a control unit (55) that controls the radiating processing of each light source and alters the pixel from which to read and read order set by the read address setting unit (53) in accordance with the type of light source that is radiating light; an AFE unit (36) and a timing generator (34) that read pixel information by causing pixel information to be output from the pixel set as the pixel from which to read in the CMOS imaging element (80); and an image processing unit (42) that generates an image from the pixel information that was read.
