Abstract:
The present invention provides an imaging device that can dramatically increase the number of images taken for an image at different focal distances acquirable simultaneously. One embodiment of the present invention is an imaging device (10) having an imaging optical system for a so-called plenoptic camera such that a multi-focal microlens array (14) is provided between a multi-focal main lens (12) and an image sensor (16). The multi-focal main lens (12) has regions (12a, 12b) each having different focal distances, and the multi-focal microlens array (14) has microlens groups (14a, 14b) each having different focal distances. By combining the multi-focal main lens (12) and the multi-focal microlens array (14), a plurality of images with different focal distances, which can be acquired simultaneously, can be acquired by the imaging sensor (16).
