Abstract:
According to the present invention, outputs of pixels corresponding to a plurality of areas (ROIs), which are different in the entire area of an imaging element, are controlled separately. The imaging element which images a subject is provided with first and second pixels. First and second analog-digital converters convert, from analog values to digital values, pixel signals from the first and second pixels. A first switch supplies, to either the first or second analog-digital converter, the pixel signal from the first pixel. A second switch supplies, to either the first or second analog-digital converter, the pixel signal from the second pixel.
