Abstract:

Provided are: an imaging element that is capable of limiting power consumption; an imaging device; an endoscope; an endoscope system; and a method for driving the imaging element. The imaging element is provided with: a plurality of pixels that are arranged in a two-dimensional matrix, that receive light from the outside, and that generate an imaging signal in accordance with the amount of received light and output the result; a buffer (27) that outputs an imaging signal that is output from the first chip (21) to the outside; and a limiting unit (28) that limits the electrical current that is output by the buffer (27) during a blanking period.
