Abstract:
An imaging element (1) comprises: a pixel array (40) in which a plurality of pixels (30) are arranged in rows and columns; a plurality of impedance conversion circuits (61) to which the pixel signals outputted from one or more pixels (30) are inputted for each column; and an A/D converter (64) that A/D converts a plurality of signals outputted from the plurality of impedance conversion circuits (61) for each column. The pixel array (40) includes, for each column, N pixel groups (100) each consisting of K or more pixels (30) that are consecutively arranged in the column direction. The N pixel groups (100) each have a vertical signal line (50) connected to L or more pixels (30) out of the K or more pixels (30). In each column, each of the N vertical signal lines (50) included in the N pixel groups (100) is connected to the input of any one of the plurality of impedance conversion circuits (61), while the output of each of the plurality of impedance conversion circuits (61) is connected to the A/D converter (64).
