Abstract:
The present technique is related to an imaging element, the size of which can be reduced without degrading the performance of the imaging element and to an electronic device.
The imaging element comprises: a pixel array portion in which pixels including a photoelectric conversion element are two-dimensionally arranged; a row circuit for controlling the row-scanning of the pixel array portion; and a column processing unit for converting an analog signal read from the pixel array portion to a digital signal. The pixel array portion is disposed on a first layer substrate. The row circuit and the column processing unit are disposed on respective different substrates that are lower-level layers with respect to the first layer substrate and stacked to the first layer substrate. This technique is applicable to imaging elements.
