Abstract:
The present disclosure pertains to an imaging element and an electronic device in which occurrence of sunspot phenomenon can be suppressed by a simple configuration. The imaging element is provided with: a sample and hold unit that samples and holds a reset voltage having a level for resetting a pixel signal; and an AD conversion unit that performs analog-digital (AD) conversion of the pixel signal. On the basis of a result of comparison of the reset voltage held by the sample and hold unit with a prescribed reference voltage, the AD conversion unit selects and outputs a first output signal obtained through AD conversion of the pixel signal or a second output signal having a prescribed level. The technology according to the present disclosure is applicable to a CMOS image sensor, for example.
