Abstract:
Provided is an imaging element such that the required voltage for the imaging element can be satisfied even when the length of a signal cable is changed. Also provided is an endoscope. The imaging element 20 is provided with: a pixel unit 21 in which a plurality of pixels for generating and outputting an electric signal corresponding to the amount of received light are arranged in a two-dimensional matrix; an A/D conversion unit 27 for generating a digital electric signal and outputting the digital electric signal to the outside; a switching unit 26 capable of connecting the A/D conversion unit 27 to the pixel unit 21 or transmission lines T1 to T3; and a timing generation unit 24 for causing the A/D conversion unit 27 to output a voltage value of the drive power to the outside by controlling the switching unit 26 such that the transmission lines T1 to T3 and the A/D conversion unit 27 are connected at a predetermined timing.
