Abstract:
In an imaging element 28, a first light detection layer 12 carries out photoelectric conversion of light that is incident on the imaging element and on light that is reflected back from a wire grid polarizer layer 14, said first light detection layer 12 containing an organic photoelectric conversion film 38 that detects light in a predetermined wavelength band and performs photoelectric conversion on the light. The wire grid polarizer layer 14 contains a polarizer 48 in which linear members, through which light does not pass, are arranged at intervals that are smaller than the wavelength of the incident light. A second light detection layer 16 contains a photoelectric conversion element 54 that carries out photoelectric conversion of light that passed through the polarizer 48.
