Abstract:
This imaging element is provided with a photoelectric conversion unit which is formed by laminating a first electrode 11, a photoelectric conversion layer 13, and a second electrode 12. The photoelectric conversion unit is further provided with a charge storage electrode 14 which is disposed separated from the first electrode 11 and disposed opposite to the photoelectric conversion layer 13 with an insulating layer 82 therebetween. When light enters the photoelectric conversion layer 13 and photoelectric conversion occurs in the photoelectric conversion layer 13, the absolute value of a potential applied to a part 13C of the photoelectric conversion layer 13 opposed to the charge storage electrode 14 is larger than the absolute of a potential applied to a region 13B of the photoelectric conversion layer 13, the region 13B being positioned between the imaging element and an imaging element adjacent thereto.
