Abstract:
The present technology pertains to an imaging element, a method for driving an imaging element, and an electronic device, with which a reduction in image quality can be suppressed. The imaging element reads a first signal in a state in which a charge-holding unit has been reset, reads a second signal in a state in which a reset transistor has been turned off, reads a third signal in a state in which a charge obtained by photovoltaic conversion has accumulated in the charge-holding unit, and reads a fourth signal in a state in which the charge-holding unit has been reset. In addition, after the reading of the first signal and before a reset signal transmitted to a gate electrode of a reset transistor is switched from an on voltage to an off voltage, the imaging element sets the reset signal to an intermediate voltage between the on voltage and the off voltage, generates a noise signal by means of correlated double sampling of the first signal and the second signal, generates a data signal by means of correlated double sampling of the third signal and the fourth signal, and generates an output signal by means of correlated double sampling of the data signal and the noise signal. The present technology can be applied to imaging elements, for example.
