Abstract:
The present invention pertains to an imaging element, an imaging method, and an electronic device configured so as to make it possible to further improve image quality. The present invention is provided with: a plurality of signal lines for individual rows of pixels, the signal lines reading signals from pixels that include photoelectric conversion elements; and a fixing unit for fixing the potential of the signal lines at a prescribed potential. The fixing unit fixes the potential of the plurality of signal lines at the point in time before a signal from a prescribed signal line starts to be read, the signal line being one of the plurality of signal lines. The fixing unit fixes the potential of the signal lines before the pixel reset operation. The potential of the signal lines can be constantly kept at the prescribed potential before the reading of a signal from a pixel, and degradation of image quality due to variation in potential at the time reading is started can be prevented. The present feature can be used in an image sensor.
