Abstract:

Provided are: an imaging unit that can be reliably probed, even when the imaging unit incorporates a non-tabular circuit board that has a complex shape; and an endoscope. This imaging unit 10 is characterized: by comprising a prism 40 that collects light, a semiconductor package 20 that has an imaging element 21 and has a connection electrode formed on a back surface thereof, a plurality of cables 60, and a circuit board 30 that has, on a top surface side, an imaging element mounting region R1 in which the imaging element 21 is mounted and a cable connection region R2 to which the cables 60 are connected and, on a back surface side of the cable connection region R2, an inspection terminal arrangement region R3 in which an inspection terminal 34 is formed; in that there is a protrusion 31 in the cable connection region R2; in that there are, on the protrusion 31 and further to a base end side than the protrusion 31, two rows of cable connection electrodes 33; and in that the central plane of the protrusion 31 is within the inspection terminal arrangement region R3 when the protrusion 31 is projected from the top surface side onto the back surface side.
