Abstract:
An imidazole compound production method for producing an imidazole compound represented by general formula (1) by reacting a 1-arylimidazole with a halogen-atom-substituted compound, wherein within the reaction system, the number of moles (Nf(2) [mole]) of the halogen-atom-substituted compound and the total volume (Vsol [liter]) of an ether solvent having 5 or less carbon atoms fulfill the relationship Vsol/Nf(2) ≤ 3 (In formula (1), R1 and R4 independently represent a substituent or the like; Z1 represents an atom group required for forming a hydrocarbon ring or the like; R2 and R3 independently represent a bond, a hydrogen atom or an aromatic hydrocarbon group; Z2 represents an atom group required for forming, together with C-C, a five-membered hydrocarbon ring or the like; and m represents an integer of 1 to 5 inclusive.)
